Megan knew that the safest place she could be was in the closet.

What I wrote made no sense to me. I ripped the page out of the notebook. At first I didn’t know what to do with the page, and then it came to me. I balled it up and tossed it out into the void. A short time later, I found out my name was Megan. That was also about the same time I found out I was sixteen.

Over the years, I’ve picked up the pen and written things that made no sense to me. After I’ve written the sentences (the word “idea” drifts through my mind), I ball them up and toss them out into the void. Sometimes, those balls of paper become reality. I see that bedroom again. I see the knob rattling. I get excited and the face on the cover smiles.

Maybe someday I’ll write something that catches my maker’s interest and I’ll get out of this closet. Someday. Maybe. Until then, I’ll keep writing as the mood takes me and tossing the balls of paper out into the void.
